China, July 21, 2015 - STMicroelectronics (ST; New York Stock Exchange: STM) introduces a new automotive-grade high-side driver that meets the most demanding German automotive industry LV124 test The system's cold-cranking specification is the industry's first high-side driver chip to meet this standard and is ideal for auto-stop-start automotive manufacturers.
The new product VND7050AJ12 and VND7140AJ12 have a minimum power supply voltage of 3.2V. From the parameter point of view, it is the best product on the market. During the battery voltage drop due to engine start-up, the new product can directly drive important equipment such as car dashboard to maintain normal work. ST's chips can replace electromechanical relays and related circuits, while offering compact size and reliable performance; in terms of size, the new high-side drivers are 40% smaller than the nearest competitor.
The latest in the VIPower M0-7 family of STMicroelectronics, the new product uses mulTIplexed current-sense diagnostics to provide accurate analog load current feedback. In addition, the best EMI protection in its class is higher than the CISPR 25 specification. These features and technical features work together to minimize the need for external inspection and filtering components in the application design.
Common features of the VIPower M0-7 series include ultra-low quiescent current, which helps to reduce the battery's power consumption in system standby mode; configurable hazard event auto-restart protection, up to 1 million times of Class A short-circuit robustness. The full range of VIPower M0-7 drivers offers a wide range of package and pin compatibility, as well as low single-channel cost, simplifying design standards, scalability and full product management.
The VND7050AJ12 and VND7140AJ12 will begin sampling applications in the 5mm x 4mm PowerSSO-12 package. The new products have begun to be evaluated by major customers and are scheduled to begin mass production in July 2015.
