Vishay expands the voltage range of automotive grade SMD aluminum capacitors

Recently, Vishay Intertechnology, Inc. (NYSE: VSH) announced that it has extended the voltage range of automotive grade 146 CTI and 160 CLA series surface mount aluminum capacitors to 100V and 80V respectively. Vishay BCcomponents devices are suitable for automotive and industrial applications in high temperature applications with low impedance, large ripple current and long life.

The 146 CTI series capacitors are available in 9 form factors with an operating temperature of +125 ° C. The 160 CLA series is available in 6 form factors and can operate at +150 ° C. These capacitors are AEC-Q200 certified, with impedances as low as 35mΩ at 100kHz for better filtering, rated ripple current of 1750mA, and a long life of 6000 hours with high reliability.

These capacitors are RoHS compliant and meet the stringent JEDEC J-STD-020 welding guidelines to withstand the rigors of reflow conditions and increase process flexibility. The 146 CTI and 160 CLA Series devices are protected against charge and discharge, so there is no limit to peak current, and the 4-pin and 6-pin models are also shock-proof.

These polarized aluminum electrolytic capacitors feature a non-solid, self-sealing electrolyte that is ideal for smoothing, filtering and buffering applications. Typical end products include automotive power transmission and chassis electronics, industrial drive, automation and renewable energy equipment, as well as telecommunications equipment and switching power supplies.
